A UN-led international sustainability summit held in Riyadh in December 2024 required accreditation, access control, AV, scoring (for the multi-track plenary sessions, side events and observer programmes), and real-time multilingual interpretation for an estimated 10,000+ delegates from more than 200 countries — across multiple venues over a two-week window. The summit was the largest UN-convened event hosted in Saudi Arabia up to that date. The technical brief had three constraints that ordinary conference systems do not face: (1) UN-grade observer protocol with multiple access tiers (plenary, side events, press gallery, ministerial corridor, VIP lounge) that have to be enforced per-delegate per-zone with cryptographic-signed credentials and offline-tolerant gate terminals; (2) first-day peak load — UN summits routinely see 1,500-2,000 delegates arrive in the first two opening hours, which is the determining design constraint regardless of total event size; (3) zero-paper accreditation as a published sustainability commitment, meaning the entire pre-arrival, on-site, and post-event flow had to be digital with cryptographic credentials, no paper fallback. Skyline delivered the full event-technology layer: a pre-arrival registration portal open 4 weeks before the summit (photo + ID document upload, dietary, disability-access, and visa-support requests in one flow), QR-code-based fast-check-in with 92% pre-check-in rate, RFID-tier access at every gate with offline-tolerant local validation, multi-zone access tiers (plenary, side events, press, ministerial, VIP, with rotating QR codes validated against the live accreditation database), simultaneous interpretation booths in the 6 official UN languages plus three regional working languages, AV and show-comms for plenary and side events, real-time leaderboard widgets for the observer programme, and a 24/7 NOC monitoring every gate and AV system. Badge security used UV-reactive print layers and holographic foil on VIP/ministerial tiers, with the underlying RFID validating against the live server (not a static card identifier) on every gate scan. Tailgating detection ran on per-session check-in logs. Press accreditation was sub-divided into pitch-side, mixed-zone and press-centre roles, each with its own zone-access pattern. Pre-arrival workflow handled dietary, disability and visa-support requests in the same form as badge issuance — delegates did not have to fill three separate forms. The gate terminals cached a signed copy of the access-rights table and continued validating locally even when the venue network was degraded (this happened twice during the summit, for ~6 minutes total; the gates kept running). The 24/7 NOC dashboard was live and watched from 96 hours before the opening session, with packet loss, latency, gate-terminal health, AV-system telemetry, and rogue-AP detection all on a wall display in the operations centre. A 30-page printed runbook with one playbook per failure mode was deployed at every gate cluster and every AV control room.

100% uptime across the full two-week summit. First-day peak load (1,500 delegates / 2 hours) absorbed without queues. Zero accreditation incidents. Zero AV incidents at plenary or side events. The summit's published sustainability report cited the accreditation platform's zero-paper workflow as one of the operational sustainability wins. UN procurement registered Skyline as a preferred vendor for future regional summits. Two subsequent UN-led events have referenced this deployment in their RFI documentation. The accreditation database produced a complete delegate-attendance audit covering every session, every zone, every check-in, signed and timestamped, delivered to the UN secretariat within 72 hours of summit close. Operationally, the deployment surfaced two product improvements that fed the 2026 Arena Metrics accreditation roadmap: integrated dietary/disability/visa flow in the pre-arrival portal, and role-based press accreditation as a sub-product. Both are now standard features.
